Our Staff

Betty Gavin-Singer holds a MA in Dance from the University of Oregon &  a BS in Physical Education/Health from Rutgers College. She has studied at the Martha Graham School, Nikolais/Louis Dance Theatre Lab, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, American Ballet Theatre School & with Charles Kelley of NYC.  Betty contiues her studies at teacher workshops and Steps On Broadway.  Betty has been teaching for over 35 years both at the public school & college level and was on the faculty at the University of Alaska before moving to Sharon Springs in 1991.  Many of her students have graduated college with Bachelor & Master degrees in Dance and are now college professors & professional dancers.   She continues to teach at dance festivals & workshops throughout the state.   Betty founded Studio North - A Centre for Dance in 1996.   




Courtney O’Dell has been dancing for 21 yrs. & teaching at Studio North for 11 yrs. She was a founding member of the Gavin-Singer Dance Co. and has competed and received awards in Dance and Vocal Competitions through-out the state. She is also certified in Cardio Boxing, Step, & Personal Training.   


Maureen Iseman-Broeking was a soloist with the American Dance Ensemble of Pittsburgh, Pa. She also danced with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and the Pittsburgh Opera. She studied ballet at the Joffrey and Harkness schools and with Finus Jhung. She has performed in Film, Television, Stock, Revues, Cruise Ships and Cabaret. Maureen has been teaching Ballet/Pointe at Studio North since 1998. Maureen is a member of the Screen Actor's Guild, AFTRA, and Actor's Equity.  Maureen has been teaching "Egyptian Fusion" Belly Dance at Studio North since 2006.  It is a fun workout from head-to-Belly-to-toe!  She is the director of the "Main Street Caravan" Belly Dance Troupe.  Maureen has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years and teaching Yoga at Studio North since 1997.  








Danielle Selby earned her BFA from the College at Brockport State University of New York.  Her choreography has been performed at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research, Michigan Youth Arts Festival, RAD Fest, Built on Stilts, Detroit Dance Race, Inhale Performance series and others.  Ms. Selby recently returned to New York after living in Michigan for several years.  In Michigan, Selby was the Assistant Artistic Director for Happendance professional dance company and the Director of Operation for the Happendance Foundation.  Before that Ms. Selby was a dancer for Nacre Dance Company.  Danielle not only shares her love of dance on stage but also in the studio, having taught dancers age 3 to 83 in Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Partnering, Composition, Conditioning and Social Dance.  She brings a combination of fun, joy and technical awaremess to all of her classes.  Danielle is excited to be a part of the Studio North team this year.

Noelle Adamoschek has been involved with Studio North for over 8 years as an instructor, assistant and company judge. Noelle studied theatre at Hofstra University and the University of Buffalo. She started a theatre company in both Seattle & NYC (where she had a theatre space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for several years). Noelle has worked professionally in Seattle, NYC and Albuquerque. She is a visual artist as well as a dancer.  Noelle teaches Pre Dance, Theatre & Acrobatics at Studio North.


Holly Luciano started dancing at Studio North in 2000 and was a performing member of the Sr. Dance Company.  She fell in love with Hip Hop after taking it at a dance program at Skidmore College 10 years ago and hasn't stopped.  Holly has been a guest hip hop teacher at Studio North as well as teaching for the King's Dancers.  She will now teach hip hop on a permanent basis to kids, teens and adults.

ompleted the 200 hour yoga teacher training in March 2014 at the Karuna center for Yoga & Healing arts in Northampton Massachusetts.  Transplanted to upstate NY from the Pacific Northwest, he brings a natural approach to yoga.  


Erin Wilday has been part of Studio North since the age of 4 and has been assisting dance classes since the age of 11.  She was a member of Studio North's Sr. Company and continued dancing in college.  Erin holds a BA in Exercise Science from Ithaca College and a PHD in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University.  Erin teaches the Acrobatics classes at Studio North as well as the classes in our children's program.
